An effective treatment for trouble verrucae is cryosurgery.

This process involves paring away the dead overlying tissue and then spraying the verrucae infected skin with a very cold “cryo” agent. This causes the water within the skin to freeze and expand, killing the skin which is infected with the verrucae and, in turn, the virus itself.

It is recommended that patients undergo a course of 3 treatments using cryosurgery (approximately one week apart) to maximise the chances of the verrucae being eliminated.

A follow up appointment is then advised 10-12 weeks later.
